Harry Garrison Miller, Jr. (1906 - 1979) |

Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, his father was an inventor of various inovative apparatus used in industry, including the Miller Press Feeder, the first automatic feeder for the newspaper industry. A graduate of the University of Colorado in Boulder, Harry attended the Chicago Art Institute in the 1920's, where he studied the techniques of the masters. In 1934 he married Joan (Gunvor) Stenseth, and they spent their honeymoon in Cimarron, New Mexico while he painted murals at the historic Don Diego Hotel. By 1947 Harry and Joan had two sons, and the family moved to Santa Fe, where they had a daughter and Harry continued his work as a muralist until his death in 1979. |
